About Learner Driving Center
We teach across South, East, Central and West Auckland, 7 am – 7 pm, seven days a week, with free pickup from your door. Every lesson is one-on-one in a dual-control car with an NZTA I-endorsed instructor, follows a plan, and ends with a clear next step.
Meet Evgeniya
Evgeniya is an NZTA I-endorsed driving instructor. She doesn’t raise her voice, explains the why behind each instruction, and repeats things as many times as it takes.
When you’re close, you get a straight answer on whether you’re ready to sit your test, not another lesson you don’t need.
She teaches in English, and slows down and rephrases when English isn’t your first language.
The car
Lessons are in a dual-control car: your instructor has a brake pedal too and can stop the car if needed. In practice that is rare; knowing it is there is what lets most learners relax and drive.
You can also learn in your own car, as long as it has a current WOF and registration and is insured for you to drive. Many learners start in the dual-control car and switch to their own before test day.
Where we teach
We’re based in Howick, East Auckland, and the car comes to you. Pickup and drop-off are free at your door in every suburb we serve across South, East, Central and West Auckland, and lessons can start from school, work or your test centre instead.

How a lesson works
Every lesson has a plan
Step 1
Before you start
A quick chat about your licence stage, what you have done so far and what worries you. The lesson is built around that, not a script.
Step 2
The first lesson
Quiet streets first: seat, mirrors, moving off, stopping, turning. If you have driven before, we check the basics and move on to what you actually need.
Step 3
Every lesson after
A short recap, one or two new skills, then practice on the roads you will be tested on: roundabouts, lane changes, motorway merges, parking.
Step 4
At the end
What went well, what to practise before next time, and when you are close, a straight answer on whether you are ready to book your test.
