Learner Driving Center is a driving school in Auckland. We collect personal information only to teach you to drive and to keep in touch about your lessons. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- When you book: your name, email address, mobile number, pickup address and suburb, the lesson you chose and its time, your licence stage, the learner’s name if you are booking for someone else, and any notes you add.
- When you enquire: your name, email, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- When you pay by card: Stripe collects your card details. We receive a confirmation of payment and a receipt reference, never your card number.
- During lessons: your instructor may keep short notes on your progress so each lesson builds on the last.
- On the website: standard analytics (pages visited, device type, rough location) through Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics. We do not use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To run your lessons: know where to pick you up, when, and what to work on.
- To send confirmations, reminders, and reschedule or cancellation links by email, and so your instructor can text you about your lesson.
- To reply to your enquiries.
- To take payment and issue receipts.
- To keep simple business records and understand how the website is used.
We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing you have not asked for.
Who processes it for us
Our booking system runs on services that store or handle your information on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Supabase hosts our database (Sydney, Australia).
- Resend sends our emails.
- ClickSend sends our text messages.
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Google Calendar holds our lesson diary (lesson time, your first name, pickup suburb).
- Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics for website statistics.
Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand. Each is bound by its own privacy terms and only uses your information to provide its service to us.
How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: seven years, as tax records require.
- Enquiries: up to two years, then deleted.
- Lesson notes: while you are a learner with us, and up to two years after your last lesson.
- Website analytics: as set by the provider; no personal identifiers are stored by us.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you, and to see a copy;
- to correct anything that is wrong;
- to delete information we no longer need to keep;
- to stop sending you reminders or other messages.
Email info@learnerdrivingcenter.com or message 022 431 4020. We answer within 20 working days, usually much sooner. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Cookies
The website uses only the cookies needed to run it and the analytics cookies described above. The booking pages do not need cookies to work.
